Meet The Patrons

  • Rachael Moses OBE

    Rachael Moses is a Consultant Respiratory Physiotherapist with interests including complex ventilation, airway clearance techniques and advanced care planning for people with long term conditions. Rachael is currently Head of Clinical Leadership Development at NHS England and is National Clinical Advisor for Respiratory with the Personalised Care Team at NHSE. She is passionate about raising awareness regarding equity, diversity and inclusion and showcasing the huge value of multi-professional working and personalised care.

    Rachael is very proud to be the first non-medic BTS President (2021-2022) and hopes this encourages others to apply for such roles. She is also fortunate to sit on a number of national organisations and Co-Chairs the National HMV-UK Committee. In her spare time Rachael is a humanitarian aid worker and currently supports Medical Aid for Palestinians as a Placement Co-ordinator. In 2021 Rachael was awarded an OBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours list and in 2022 was awarded an Honorary Doctorate from the University of Hertfordshire for work in the field of Physiotherapy and Allied Health Professionals.

  • Mr Joseph Manjaly BSc MBChB DOHNS FRCS (ORL-HNS)

    Joe Manjaly is a consultant ENT surgeon specialising in ears and hearing restoration for adults and children. He works at the Royal National ENT Hospital & University College London Hospitals. He has an active role in teaching and training regionally and nationally and is the author of several widely used trainee textbooks. Outside of work he plays music semi-professionally and is a keen sports fan as well as a husband and dad

  • Uzo Ibechukwu

    Uzo is the Chief Pharmacist at Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust, and is also the system workforce lead for Pharmacy and Medicines Optimisation and has worked in a number of roles across Pharmacy and wider healthcare. Key interests are in embedding Quality Improvement, research and inclusivity in frontline practice and leadership. His mantra is ‘If you are the smartest in the room, you are doing leadership wrong’. Uzo is dedicated to addressing all forms of discrimination in healthcare which is key to providing the best care for our patients.

  • Professor Sarah Curran

    Sarah is a Professor of Podiatric Medicine and Rehabilitation within the School of Sport and Health Sciences at Cardiff Metropolitan University. She is the Programme Director for the BSc(Hons) Podiatry programme and Pathway Lead for the MSc Advanced Practice (Musculoskeletal Studies). Sarah has undertaken a number of pedagogic research projects, but has a particular interest in musculoskeletal pathologies of the lower limb. This includes collaborative projects that span across disciplines locally and internationally involving topics ranging from footwear, patellofemoral pain, chronic ankle instability and limb dominance. Sarah is the current Chair of the Research, Development and Innovation Committee and Chair of the Professional Registration Steering Group for Chartered Scientists, at the Royal College of Podiatry, London. She is an Editorial Board member of a number of interdisciplinary journals and a Contributing Editor for the Journal of the American Podiatric Medical Association and an Associate Editor for the Journal of Foot and Ankle Research. Sarah has published widely and presented at national and international conferences. She is a National Teaching Fellow, a Chartered Scientist, a Founding Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, Fellow of the Royal College of Podiatry, London and a Senior Fellow of Advanced HE.

  • Dr Rini Paul

    Dr Rini Paul, is a practising GP in North London. She divides the working week with her clinical work and an academic teaching post at King’s College School of London as one of the Teacher Development Leads for the undergraduate Medical Education in the Community (KUMEC) department. She also juggles being a Mum of three boys, including her identical twin boys and meditates, jogs slowly and loves a spin class to destress. Her main educational interests lie in multidisciplinary reflective practice, mentoring peers and students, narrative medicine and working towards equity and justice. https://linktr.ee/EducatingRini
